Salem County Produce Stands
You're in the country now!
Salem County provides some of the best farmland in the US. It reflects New Jersey history simply because it hasn't enjoyed(?) the development that most of the rest of the state has undergone. We have tried to provide useful maps to each of these farm stands. Our policy is to provide a major highway or county road in each map as a point of reference. Some of the areas on the Salem County list are deep in southernmost New Jersey, and so the map is rather large scale. In fact some of the locations were beyond the capability of Google Maps to display. A phone call, or copy and paste into your favorite mapping service may help. It will be worth the effort!

Wojculewski's Sweet Corn
| |
Wojculewski's Sweet Corn
John and Aleta Wojculewski currently farm over 80 acres of their 96 acre farm. John's mother and father purchased the farm in the 1940's and raised all kinds of veggies including 3 varieties of corn - white, bi-color and yellow. They eventually phased out all the other things by 1970's.
John's father, Stanley, Sr. was noted for his greenhouse tomatoes and cheese peppers in the farming community. The Wojculewski family grows only white fresh market sweet corn today.
Eating corn comes in roughly 3 groups - Sugary, Sugar Enhanced and Super Sweet. The farm corn is sugar enhanced. Although not as sweet as Super Sweet variety, which is tough and found mostly in the grocery stores, it makes for great eating. There are usually anywhere from 5-8 different varieties with different maturity days so the farm can have continuous corn for the whole season. The main season crop is Silver King.
Harvesting usually begins around the end of June for beginning of July and winds up around the first week of October. Every year is different depending on the weather. The farm is a wholesale supplier for farm markets in the area and conducts retail sales in their yard.
